Melbourne Beach, Florida · Brevard County
Web design and local SEO in Melbourne Beach, FL.
Melbourne Beach is its own town, not a part of Melbourne: 3,231 people at the 2020 Census, on less than one square mile of land. Its mailing address reaches well beyond the town limits. This page is about getting found by people in the town and along the beaches that share its address.

The thing that makes Melbourne Beach different
A small town with a big mailing address.
The Town of Melbourne Beach has its own town hall at 507 Ocean Avenue and its own rules for businesses. But a Melbourne Beach address doesn't mean you're inside the town. Sebastian Inlet State Park lists its address as Melbourne Beach, FL 32951 too.

An older, settled town
The median age is 56.4 and the median household income is $102,857, both Census estimates with wide margins for a town this size. Most homes here are lived in by their owners, and owners are the ones who hire someone to fix, clean or watch a house.

If your shop is across the river
From a shop in Melbourne or Palm Bay, you can still do much of your work in Melbourne Beach. A pool service, a roofer or a property manager doesn't need an address on the island to serve it.
Why the map is hard from across the river
Google weighs how close a business is to the person searching. An office on the mainland starts behind on that, and you can't move the river. What you can do is tell Google, plainly and in several places, that you work in Melbourne Beach. No one can promise you the top spot. You can make sure Google knows where you work.
Three places the town's name belongs
Local SEO for Melbourne Beach: name the town where Google can see it.
Local SEO for a business that serves Melbourne Beach comes down to three places where the town's name has to appear.
1. Your Google Business Profile
If customers come to your shop or office, the profile shows that address. If you go to them, set it up as a service-area business, hide your street address and list the areas you cover, Melbourne Beach included. How I manage Google Business Profiles, or do it yourself with the free checklist.
2. A page that names Melbourne Beach
Not Melbourne with "Beach" added. A real page about the work you do on the island, with photos of real jobs and the questions people there ask you. Google reads it, and so do the people deciding whether to call.
3. Reviews that mention where the job was
Ask customers in town to mention in their review what you did and that the job was in Melbourne Beach, in their own words.
Who this works for
The businesses that get the most from this.
Not every business needs this equally. These are the businesses that get the most from being named in Melbourne Beach.
Businesses inside the town limits
The town requires its own local business tax receipt before you open, and Brevard County requires one too. If you're opening here, have your website and Google profile ready by the time you open.
Vacation rental hosts and property managers
Vacation rentals in the town have to register with the town. If you manage rentals or look after homes for owners who are away, say so on your site and name the town.
Anything that serves visitors
The Community Chapel and the historic pier are on Ocean Avenue or at its end, and Ryckman Park sits on the river. Day-trippers and pier visitors look you up on a phone, so put your hours and number at the top.
Where I'd tell you to spend less
If your work comes from a few long-standing clients who already know you, you may not need a big site. Finish your Google profile, name Melbourne Beach among the areas you serve, ask for reviews and keep your money. I'll tell you that on the call.

Being straight about the competition
How to compare web designers for Melbourne Beach.
Only a few web designers have a Melbourne Beach page, and none of the ones I read says in writing who owns the domain. Here are four questions to ask any designer, me included.
Who owns the domain?
It should be you, in your name, from day one. Ask to see it in writing before you pay. Mine is in writing.
Is the price published?
If the only price is a starting point plus a monthly fee on every add-on, add it up for a year before you sign. Mine are in the price table further down.
Does the page know the town?
A Melbourne Beach page that keeps saying Melbourne wasn't written for you. Read it the way a local would.
Can I see reviews from real clients?
Ask for reviews you can check on Google, not quotes on the designer's own site. Mine are on my Google profile.
One person, both jobs
Web design and local SEO, done together.
I build and look after both your website and your Google profile, so they name the same town and the same services.
Your website
Built for the phone first, with your services, your prices if you publish them, and the places you work named in plain words. Redesigns too, if you already have a site.
Your Google profile
Set up or cleaned up so it matches your site: same name, same phone, same services, same areas. When they match, Google and your customers get the same answer.
Reviews and upkeep
A simple way to ask for reviews, and monthly plans that keep the site and the profile current. Month to month. Cancel any time.
What you keep
If you ever leave, you take everything with you.
Some website deals keep the domain or the hosting in the designer's name, and the owner only finds out when they try to leave. Before you pay anyone, get ownership in writing. I put mine in writing.
Ask me anything before you decide- The domain is registered in your name. From day one, not mine.
- You get every login. Hosting, Google, analytics, email, in writing.
- No contract to break. Monthly plans are month to month.
- No fee to leave. Not for transferring, not for releasing anything.
Published prices
Web design in Melbourne Beach: the same prices as everywhere else.
The price doesn't change with the ZIP code, on the island or off it. Every price is on my services page, and you can buy without a sales call.
| Option | Price | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Google Business Profile setup | $300, one time | Your profile set up properly, with no monthly plan attached and no website required. |
| Starter website | $800, one time | 3 pages, built for the phone first, with your Google profile set up and connected. |
| Professional website | $1,500, one time | 7 pages for a business with several real services to explain. |
| Premium website | $3,000, one time | 10 pages for a business competing in a crowded market. |
| Monthly plans | $150 to $1,000 a month | Care $150, Local Visibility $300, Growth $600, Authority $1,000. Month to month, no contract. |
What each monthly plan includes is on my services page. Most businesses don't need the biggest option. If the $300 profile setup is the right answer for you, that's what I'll tell you.
Melbourne Beach questions
What people here ask.
Is Melbourne Beach part of Melbourne?
No. Melbourne Beach is its own incorporated town, with its own town hall and its own business tax receipt. Melbourne is a separate city. If you work in both, each one deserves its own mention. My Melbourne page covers the city.
My address says Melbourne Beach. Am I in the town?
Not necessarily. The 32951 ZIP code reaches well beyond the town limits; Sebastian Inlet State Park uses it too. If you're not sure, ask the town before you apply for the town's business tax receipt.
What business tax receipts do I need?
Inside the town, two: one from the Town of Melbourne Beach and one from Brevard County. The county's is $37 a year, plus a hazardous waste or fire prevention fee for some businesses, due by September 30 each year, per the Brevard County Tax Collector. Ask the town for its amount.
Do I need a website, or is a Google profile enough?
For many small businesses, the Google profile alone does more than a website, and it costs $300 once instead of $800 and up. Send me your business name and I'll tell you which one makes sense, even if the answer is the cheaper one.
How long does it take to see results?
In my experience, a Google profile can move within days once your services are added. Reviews show up over two or three months. Local search as a whole takes three to six months and keeps building through the first year. Anyone promising you the top spot in thirty days isn't telling you the truth.
What happens if I want to leave?
You take everything. The domain is in your name from the start, you get every login in writing, and there's no fee to leave and no contract to break.
