Sebastian & the Treasure Coast

Google Business Profile management in Sebastian & Vero Beach

Starting with whether you need to pay anyone. The profile itself is free — there's no premium tier and no fee to appear on the map. What you'd be paying me for is the local SEO work behind it, and before you do that it's worth knowing exactly which parts you could do yourself in an afternoon.

I'll look up your profile and tell you what's wrong with it · No obligation

Start here

Google Business Profile is free. Half of this you can do yourself.

Your Google Business Profile costs nothing to create, nothing to verify and nothing to manage. There is no paid tier and no fee to appear in the map results. Anyone charging you for a basic listing is reselling something Google gives away.

Free, and genuinely doable

Claiming and completing your profile. Choosing your categories. Adding your services. Asking customers for reviews. Replying to reviews and questions. Basic listings on Yelp, Bing Places, Apple Business Connect and Facebook.

Roughly what it takes

Two to three hours a week, consistently, if you're doing it yourself. The consistency is the hard part — not the difficulty. Most owners start strong and stop by week three.

What's actually worth paying for

A way to check whether any of it is working, and cleaning up inconsistent listings when your old phone number is scattered across a dozen directories. That second one is genuinely tedious.

The full checklist is here, free, with everything I'd do listed out.

So here's the honest test. If you have two or three hours a week and you'll still be doing it in six months, do it yourself — and call me anyway and I'll tell you what to fix first, free. If you know you won't, that's what I'm for. Those are the only two real answers, and I'd rather you pick the right one than the profitable one.

What actually moves the map

Google Maps ranking: most packages are built around the one thing that doesn't work.

Google Maps rankings come down to three things Google names itself: relevance, distance and prominence. Distance you can't change. Prominence takes months. Relevance can move in days — and it's where almost nobody looks.

Moves it most

Your primary category

The single highest-weighted relevance factor in local search, ahead of reviews and links. "Services" instead of "Plumber" makes you invisible for the searches that matter — and Google never tells you. Your dashboard still says complete and verified.

Moves it fastest

Your services list

Ranking shifts have been observed within 24 to 72 hours of adding service listings. It's the quickest lever available, and most profiles have three services on them when the business offers fifteen.

Moves it slowly

Reviews, and replying to them

Around 20% of local pack weight, and it's velocity that counts rather than the total. Go roughly three weeks without a new one and rankings measurably slip. Forty reviews with two a week beats eighty from two years ago.

Doesn't move it

Weekly Google Posts

A controlled nine-week study tracking 441 keywords found zero ranking movement from posting. Posts are fine for engagement. They are not a ranking service — and they're the headline deliverable in most packages you'll be quoted.

That last one is worth sitting with. Go and read three Google Business Profile management packages. Weekly posts will be at the top of nearly all of them, because it's visible work — you can see it happening, which makes it easy to sell. It just doesn't move you up the map.

What's included

Local Visibility — $300 a month, and here's every hour of it.

Roughly four to six hours of real local SEO work a month, which is what this job takes when it's done properly. Month to month, cancel any time, no contract.

Month one

The audit and the fix

Categories checked against whoever is currently outranking you. Every service added and described. Hours, attributes, service areas, photos, description. This is where most of the movement comes from, and it happens once.

Every month

Listings kept consistent

Your name, address and phone matching everywhere it appears — the directories, the aggregators, the old listing with your previous number on it that's still sending people to a dead line.

Every month

Reviews requested and answered

A system for asking after every job, and a reply to every review that comes in. Written properly, because what you write back is indexed even when the review itself is just five stars and no words.

Every month

A report you can actually check

Where you rank in the map for your main searches, calls, direction requests and website clicks — and what I did that month. If the numbers didn't move, that's in there too.

Also included, because your website and your listing aren't separate problems: hosting, SSL, updates, security, backups and changes whenever you need them. Most GBP management is sold on its own at this price. This is the profile work and the site care in the same $300.

If you drive to your customers

Service-area businesses start at a disadvantage. This is how you make it back.

Plumbers, electricians, landscapers, cleaners, mobile services in Palm Bay, Melbourne and Fort Pierce — anyone without a shopfront customers walk into. Google's guidance is to hide your address, and that's correct. It also costs you something, and almost nobody explains what.

The hidden cost of a hidden address

A hidden address is itself one of the more influential local ranking factors — roughly seventh. You can't avoid it without breaking Google's rules, and using a virtual office or a PO box to fake one is a fast route to suspension.

So the other levers carry more

Category precision and a complete service list matter more for you than for a business with a front door. That's not a consolation — those are the two fastest-moving fields on the whole profile.

And your service areas have to be honest

List the towns you actually serve, not every town within an hour. Padding the list doesn't extend your reach, and a mismatch between your address and your service-area settings is a documented suspension trigger.

One-time, no monthly plan required

Three things you might need once and never again.

Not everyone wants a monthly plan, and not everyone needs one. These are fixed-price jobs, done once, with no obligation to continue.

JobPriceWhat's involved
Profile setup & full optimization
Buy it now, no call needed
$300 Categories researched against your competitors, every service added and written, hours, attributes, service areas, description, photos. The month-one work, done once, then it's yours to maintain. Verification help included.
Verification help
Call — usually a short conversation
$150 Google's requirements got stricter and now often mean a video walkthrough or documentation. If you've failed verification or can't get through it, I'll walk it with you. Free if you're buying setup.
Suspension recovery
Call — I look before you pay
$400 Working out which type of suspension you have, finding the actual violation, assembling documentation and filing the appeal. Appeals typically take one to six weeks and your reviews are held, not lost.

Why only one of those has a buy button. Setup is a defined job — you know what you're getting, so you can just buy it. The other two need me to look first. On suspension recovery especially: I charge less than half what most specialists do, and I'll tell you honestly before you pay whether I think it's recoverable. Some aren't — a profile suspended for a real violation that hasn't been fixed will just get suspended again. That's a refund and a wasted month for both of us, so I'd rather find out first.

Why mine sits at the bottom of that range: there's one of me, no office, no account managers and no sales team. The same reason my build prices are what they are. You should ask anyone quoting you — including me — exactly who is doing the work and how many hours a month it comes to. I wrote more about why web and SEO quotes vary so much if you want the longer version.

How you'll know it's working

Ask anyone you're considering for a rank report. Including me.

The standard advice in this industry is that if a provider won't show you where you actually rank on the map across your service area, you should push back — because that's the only way to verify the work moved anything. Plenty of packages report "posts published" and "photos uploaded" instead, which measures activity rather than results.

You'll get a geogrid report — a heatmap showing where you rank across a grid of points around your business, not a single number from one location. It's the difference between "you're third" and "you're third downtown, seventh in Gifford, and nowhere in Wabasso." Plus calls, direction requests and website clicks, monthly, in plain English. When something didn't move, I'll say so and tell you what I'm changing.

Ask me anything — (754) 303-2831
  • Your profile stays yours. Registered to your account, with you as Owner. I'm added as a Manager.
  • Owners can remove Managers. Managers can't remove Owners. That order matters and it's the right way round.
  • No contract. Month to month, cancel any month.
  • Nothing gets undone if you leave. The categories, services and listings stay fixed.

Questions

What people ask before signing up.

Isn't Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business) free?

Yes, completely. Free to create, free to verify, free to manage, and there's no paid tier or fee to appear in the map results. You're not paying me for access to anything — you're paying for four to six hours a month of work you'd otherwise be doing yourself. If you have that time and you'll keep doing it, don't hire anyone.

How fast will I see something?

Service listings can shift rankings within 24 to 72 hours. A wrong primary category usually corrects within days. The rest of the profile compounds over one to four weeks. Review velocity takes two to three months. Anyone promising the map pack in thirty days is guessing.

Can you guarantee I'll be in the top three?

No, and nobody can. Google weighs how close the searcher is standing to you, and nobody controls that. What I can tell you is that the difference between first and third is about two and a half percentage points of clicks, while fourth place is a cliff — so getting into the three is the goal, not topping it.

Do I need a website from you for this?

No. If your site is decent I'll work with what you have. Sometimes the site is fine and the listing is the entire problem — and that's the cheaper half to fix, so I'd rather find that out first. If it does need work, that's a website redesign, priced separately.

What if my profile gets suspended?

I'll handle the appeal. It's why I make changes slowly and one at a time rather than overhauling everything in an afternoon — rapid edits to your name, address or categories are one of the most common triggers. Appeals typically take one to six weeks, and your reviews are held rather than deleted.

Will you write Google Posts every week?

Not as a ranking tactic, because controlled testing shows posts produce no ranking movement. I'll post when there's something worth posting. If you want weekly posts anyway for the engagement, say so and I'll do them — I just won't bill you for them as SEO.

Can you get my suspended profile back?

Usually, yes — $400, one time, no monthly plan needed. I'll work out which type of suspension you have, find the violation, gather documentation and file the appeal. Appeals typically take one to six weeks and your reviews are held rather than deleted. I'll tell you before you pay if I think it isn't recoverable.

I'm a service-area business with no storefront. Does this still work?

Yes, and it matters more for you. Hiding your address is correct and required, but it carries a real ranking cost — which means your categories and service list have to carry more weight than they would for a business with a front door. Those are also the two fastest fields to fix.

What areas do you cover?

Sebastian, Vero Beach, Palm Bay, Melbourne and Fort Pierce, plus the smaller communities between them — Gifford, Winter Beach, Indian River Shores, Roseland, Wabasso, Micco, Barefoot Bay, Malabar and Fellsmere.

Free, takes about ten minutes

Send me your business name and I'll check your listing.

I'll compare your categories against whoever's outranking you, find what's missing, and tell you what to fix first. If it's a ten-minute job you can do yourself, I'll tell you which ten minutes.
