Web Design in Indian River County, FL: Websites, Local SEO and Google Listings

I'm Dennis Aguilar, and I do web design in Indian River County from Sebastian, where I live. I build every site myself, from the first call to launch. This page is the county view: how the county is actually laid out, what a website costs here, and the paperwork and seasons that shape how customers find you. For one town, see Sebastian website design, Vero Beach web design or the Fellsmere page.

How the county is laid out

Most of the county lives outside city limits, so your Google listing has to reach them too.

At the 2020 census, Vero Beach South and Florida Ridge each had more residents than the city of Vero Beach. Neither one has a city government. The Census Bureau counts them as census-designated places, and the people who live there still search for a plumber or a salon by the name of their neighborhood.

What that means for you: a Google listing built around one city boundary misses a big share of the county. If you're a service-area business that travels to customers, Google lets you hide your address and list up to 20 service areas, kept within about two hours' drive of your base (Google Business Profile Help). Use them for the places you actually serve, and name those places on your website too: Gifford, Vero Lake Estates, Florida Ridge, Wabasso, Roseland, Winter Beach. Google can't guess that you cover them. My Google Business Profile checklist walks through the rest of the listing.

Who actually runs businesses here

Most businesses in Indian River County are one person. Mine is too.

19,003
businesses with no paid employees (2024)

4,820
businesses with employees (2023)
Census employer count
About 4 to 1

Different survey years

That shapes how I build. A one-person business doesn't have a marketing department to keep a website fed, so the site has to work without one: clear prices, a phone number that's easy to tap, and a Google listing that's complete and correct. It also means you answer your own phone, and so do I. When you call me, you get the person who builds the site.

Pricing

What a website costs in Indian River County.

The most common question people ask Google about web design here is what it costs. Many Florida web design pages answer with a wide range or a starting price instead of a package price. Here's my answer, with fixed page counts and the same prices in every town I serve.

What you getPriceWhat it covers
Starter website$800 one time3 pages (Home, Services, Contact), built for phones first, with your Google listing set up
Professional website$1,500 one time7 pages, with a page for each service
Premium website$3,000 one time10 pages, landing pages and local SEO across every town you serve
Google listing setup$300 one timeFor businesses that need a Google Business Profile set up correctly, without a new website
Care plan$150 a monthWebsite maintenance, month to month
Local Visibility plan$300 a monthYour Google profile managed for you, month to month

Every one of these is in the shop with a buy button. The $300 monthly plan is my Google Business Profile management, and for many businesses here the listing is the right place to start, before any website. If you already have a site that isn't working, start with the website redesign page, and I explain why web design quotes vary so much in a separate post.

I can't promise you a spot at the top of Google, and anyone who does is guessing. What I can do is fix everything you control and show you what changed.

From first call to launch

How a website with me works, and how long it takes.

Four steps, and the site is usually live in about two to three weeks. It's one person from start to finish, so the person you call is the person who builds it.

01

I look you up

Before you pay anything, I check your Google listing and tell you what's wrong with it.

02

You pick the scope

You choose a package from the price table, so there's no quote to wait for.

03

I build, you review

You see the site before it goes live. Two rounds of changes are included.

04

Launch and handover

The site goes live, your Google profile is connected, and every login is written down and given to you.

What's yours

You own the website, the domain and the Google listing, even if you stop working with me.

  • Your domain is registered in your name.
  • Every login is handed to you in writing at launch.
  • You're the Owner of your Google Business Profile, not a Manager, so nobody can lock you out of it.
  • Monthly plans run month to month, and there's no fee to leave.

If you've ever wondered who really owns a website someone else built, I wrote about who owns your website and how to check.

Before you build anything

Make your business tax receipt, Sunbiz name and Google listing say the same thing.

Where your business sits decides who issues your local business tax receipt. The county's receipt is for businesses in the unincorporated areas only. It costs $40.00 a year, the tax year runs October 1 to September 30, and you can apply online through BTExpress. A home-based business in the unincorporated county also needs a Home Occupation Permit, and if you use a fictitious name, a copy of its registration (Indian River County Tax Collector). The City of Sebastian and the City of Vero Beach issue their own receipts, due by September 30.

Why a web designer cares: Google says your business name "should reflect your business's real-world name, as used consistently on your storefront, website, stationery, and as known to customers" (Google Business Profile guidelines). The name on your receipt, your Sunbiz filing, your website and your Google listing should match. I check all four before I build. This is practical advice, not legal advice. For what your business needs to file, ask the tax collector or your city.

Timing

Plan your Google listing around the season, not the calendar year.

The county's tourism office describes late October through April as peak weather season (Visit Indian River County). The job numbers move with it. In the Sebastian–Vero Beach metro, leisure and hospitality jobs went from 8,600 in March and April 2026 to 7,900 in July, not seasonally adjusted (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics).

On the barrier island the swing is even sharper. The Town of Orchid says it has between 400 and 500 residents, "but in the summer months about 80% of the population is out-of-state" (Town of Orchid).

So September is the month to get ready. Before October, check that your hours on Google match your door, add holiday hours for Thanksgiving through New Year's, post fresh photos of recent work, and make sure every service you offer is listed. A listing that's right when the season starts gets the calls. A listing fixed in January is catching up.

Hurricane season

When a storm is coming.

In 2004, Hurricane Frances came ashore at Hutchinson Island on September 5, and Hurricane Jeanne hit near the south end of the same island on September 26 (NOAA; National Weather Service). Two landfalls three weeks apart, just down the coast. Businesses here should plan for closures, not just hope to avoid them.

I wrote a hurricane season checklist for your website and Google listing that covers special hours, temporary closures and reopening. And sign up for Alert Indian River, the county's emergency notification system.

Local work

Work I've done in Indian River County.

Aiden's Lawn & Landscape, Sebastian. A new, owner-operated lawn business. The name the owner first wanted was already registered three times in Florida, so I checked a new one against Sunbiz before anything else. Then a logo, a five-page site and published prices from $75, all built around the overgrown yards other crews turn down. Read the full case study.

It's my only project for an Indian River County business so far. My other clients are outside the county. I'd rather tell you that than let a portfolio imply otherwise.

Where I work

The towns and communities I serve in Indian River County.

The county has five incorporated places: Sebastian, Vero Beach, Fellsmere, Indian River Shores and Orchid (Indian River County Comprehensive Plan). I serve all five, plus the unincorporated communities in between: Vero Beach South, Florida Ridge, Gifford, Vero Lake Estates, West Vero Corridor, Wabasso, Roseland and Winter Beach.

If your customers speak Spanish, I build and write in Spanish too. When I search in Spanish for web design in Vero Beach, every result is an English page. My diseño web en español page is where to start. For the rest of the towns I serve on the Treasure Coast, see the service areas page.

Indian River County questions

Questions business owners in the county ask me.

How much does a website cost in Indian River County?

With me, $800 for three pages, $1,500 for seven and $3,000 for ten, paid once. Monthly care starts at $150, and having your Google profile managed is $300 a month. Those prices are the same everywhere I work.

Is $1,500 a fair price for a website?

Here's what it buys from me: a seven-page site with a page for each service, two rounds of changes, and the domain and every login in your name. My three-page site is $800 and my ten-page site with landing pages and deeper local SEO is $3,000. Compare what's included, not just the number.

Do I need a website if I already have a Google listing?

Not always. A complete Google listing shows your phone number, hours, reviews and photos, and for some businesses that's enough to start. A website helps when customers want to see prices, past work or every service before they call. If customers come to you, show your address. If you go to them, Google says to hide your address and keep your service area within about two hours' drive. See what listing management includes or work through the free checklist.

Is a website still worth it in 2026?

For most businesses that want new customers, yes, but it isn't always the first thing to spend on. If your Google listing is incomplete, fix that first, because that's where many local customers find you. Then a website gives them a reason to call you instead of the next listing down.

How long does a website take?

Usually about two to three weeks from the start, including your review rounds. The Google listing work often shows results sooner.

Do you meet in person in Vero Beach or Fellsmere?

Yes. I'm in Sebastian, so anywhere in the county is a short drive. I can meet you at your business, or call you if that's easier.

Do I need a business tax receipt for a home business?

The county's receipt covers businesses in unincorporated areas only, and a home-based business there also needs a Home Occupation Permit. The tax year runs October 1 to September 30. Sebastian and Vero Beach issue their own receipts. Check with the office that covers your address; this isn't legal advice.

Do you build Spanish websites?

Yes. Spanish is my first language, and Spanish pages are written in Spanish from the start, never machine-translated. See my Spanish page.
